Appointed on July 10, 224, she is expected to lay a solid foundation for the institution.
The Presidential Decree of No 2024/166 of May 24, 2024 creating a Higher Teachers’ Training College (HTTC) at the University of Buea (UB) has received fresh impetus as implementation has started with the head of the institution now in place. Her name is Professor Lucy Mande Ayamba epse Ndip. She was appointed as pioneer Director of the College on July 10, 2024 in a Presidential Decree No 2024/293 of 10 July 2024 signed by President Paul Biya. As other members of staff are still to be appointed for the school to take off, it is expected that Prof. Lucy Ndip will put her rich academic savoir-faire in laying a solid foundation for the institution.
Prior to her appointment, Prof. Lucy Ndip was the Director of Students’ Affairs in the same University since June 23, 2022. Still in the University of Buea, she served as Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Research, Cooperation and Relations with the Business World beginning 2019 to 2022. Again, she had been Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Internal Control and Evaluation from November 2015 to August 2019.
Recruited as Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Life Science in University of Buea in June 1998, she has held several administrative posts. She has been Head of Service, Teaching and Research from November 2005 to December 2011, Head of Department of Biomedical Science Faculty of Health Science – UB from March 2013 to November 2015, Acting Post-Graduate Coordinator in the Faculty of Health Science from October 2014 to November 2015 among others.
