Transfers Lionesses : On The Move

While some are announcing the end of their stay in their respective clubs, others are landing in new destinations.


There has been activity among Cameroonian women footballers recently, with some leaving their clubs and others finding new destinations. Veteran midfielder Grace Ngock Yango is the biggest name on the move. After a season with Guingamp Women in France’s top division, the 35-year-old has signed with DC Power FC, a club in the USA. Yango, a mainstay for Cameroon with over 35 appearances, brings a wealth of experience to her new club.
Raissa Mbappe, who joined Cd Getafe in 2022, announced her departure from the Spanish club on social media. The forward, who helped Getafe achieve promotion to the top division, expressed her gratitude to the club and her teammates but acknowledged it is time for “new challenges.” “An important page in my professional career is being turned, a chapter in my life is being closed, after two exceptional seasons at GETAFE, which will always remain a great family to me,” a portion of her post read. She did not hint on her new destination.
