The 17-year-old swimmer was eliminated from the competition after he finished the 100m freestyle heat on the sixth spot in 1’03”42 yesterday July 30, 2024.
Giorgio Nguichie Kamseu, Cameroon’s lone athlete in the 100m freestyle swimming competition at the ongoing 2024 Olympic Games in Paris has been knocked out of the Games. The 17-year-old swimmer was eliminated from the competition after he finished the 100m freestyle heat on the sixth spot in 1’03”42 yesterday July 30, 2024. He was the sixth out of seven swimmers. His performance earned him disqualification from the competition. On the general classification Nguichie is ranked 78th out of 79.
After his performance in the 100m freestyle swimming, Giorgio Nguichie Kamseu said it was his first time of participating and that it was magnificent. “My result was not favourable but it was not deplorable either because I gave my all. I was in the race. I think I will do better next time,” he said. The coach, Thomas Tinalao said the race went well but unfortunately they did not meet their expectations.
Giorgio Armani Kamseu was unable to grab the required time to progress to the second stage of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The elimination puts the Cameroonian athlete out of the running for the rest of the Olympic competition in freestyle swimming. Even ...
