Draughts Cup of Cameroon : Arena Yaounde Lifts trophy

It was an exceptional day at the National Institute of Youth and Sports in Yaounde on Saturday July 27, 2024. The event was the finals of the 2024 edition of the Cup of Cameroon teams’ competition for draughts. Organised by the Cameroon Draughts Federation (FECADAMES), the competition brought together players from eight teams from across the country. The eight teams were divided in to two groups of four. Inhabitants of Yaounde had another opportunity to discover new techniques in draughts. It was equally an opportunity for Cameroonians of all walks of life especially those who do not know the sports discipline to develop interest in the sports discipline. 
For two days the players displayed rich talents in the sports discipline. At the end of the competition, Arena Draughts Club of Nkoldongo Yaounde emerged winners ahead of Damiers Club of Ngoa-Ekele Yaounde and Eleveurs Draughts Club of Eleveurs Yaounde. The trophy for the best player in the competition went to Wabo David Daco of Dane Draughts Club of Ngoa-Ekelle Yaounde while in the women’s singles Outse Félicité beat Njampou Anitta to grab the trophy for the best player. The captain of Areana Draughts Club, Leopold Kouogeu said his secret is hard work and participating in the major international competitions.
