Military Cooperation : Chinese Naval Medical Ship To Visit Cameroon

The ‘Ark of Peace” medical naval vessel will berth in Douala Seaport for consultations from October 7-14, 2024.
China’s People’s Liberation Army, PLA on July 31, 2024 in Yaounde marked the 97th anniversary of its founding in a ceremony organised by the Chinese Embassy in Cameroon. In a speech on the occasion, the Defence Attache in the Chinese Embassy in Cameroon, Senior Colonel Lu Jipeng announced the arrival in Cameroon of a Chinese medical naval vessel for medical consultations.
“For the first time, a Chinese military medical naval mission will visit Cameroon. The “Ark of Peace” medical ship will berth in Douala Seaport for medical consultations from October 7-14, 2024 on a mission dubbed, “Harmony 2024 Mission.” This is a major diplomatic military achievement for armies of our two countries,” Senior Colonel Lu said.
“In peacekeeping, China assists Africa through training and the offer of financial support to the United Nations for peacekeeping operations in Africa. To date, over 30,000 Chinese UN peacekeepers have been deployed in 17 missions in Africa where 11 officers and soldiers died,” the Defence Atatche said. Adding that China appreciates the great role played by Cameroon in peacekeeping to stabilize Africa.
