Cameroon-Mexico : Ambassador Officially Takes Office

Alfredo Miranda presented the advance copies of his accreditation documents to Minister Felix Mbayu during an audience on August 27, 2024.
Newly designated Ambassador of Mexico to Cameroon, with residence in Abuja, Alfredo Miranda has presented the formal diplomatic letter accrediting him to the country. This was during an audience granted him by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu on August 27, 2024.
The diplomat who now heads diplomatic relations between his country and Cameroon was born on January 12, 1959 in Mexico and has a degree in international relations. Prior to his appointment as Ambassador, he was head of the Chancellery of Mexico in the United States of America, a position he occupied from July 2019 to April 2021. The Ambassador with residence in Abuja is also accredited as non-resident Ambassador to Benin, Bukina Faso, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Niger, Togo and the Republic of Central Africa.
Alfredo Miranda joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico in 1982 and has worked at the Departments of General Affairs and Treaties, Latin America and the Caribbean, amongst others. Between February 2017 and July 2019, he was the Ambassador of Mexico in Saudi Arabia, as well as for Oman and Yemen. Alfredo Miranda has also been Ambassador of Mexico to Ethiopia and permanent observer at the African Union (2012-2016) where he represented his country on several occasions.
