Legislation : Diplomatic, Ecosystem Instruments Better Explained

External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella and the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Jules Dorêt Ndongo were before the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly yesterday.
Two bills relating to the reciprocal exemption of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, special or service passports between Cameroon and South Korea as well as with Tunisia were on March 26, 2025 defended by the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella before the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly headed by Hon. Emmanuel Bamni. The first legal instrument authorizes the President of the Republic to ratify the Agreement on reciprocal exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, official or service passports between the Republic of Cameroon and the Republic of Korea, signed in Seoul, South Korea, on 2 June 2024 and the second prays on him to ratify the Cameroon-Tunisia accord on the reciprocal abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, special or service passports, signed in Yaounde on 27 April 2024.
Noting that the two legal instruments are similar, Minister Mbella Mbella noted that its ratification will reinforce cooperation ties with the aforementioned two countries. Besides boosting cooperation between the two countries, the different Agreements aim to facilitate the movement of their officials, who will henceforth have the right to enter, leave, transit through or stay in the respective territories of the other State Party for a period of 90 days.
The Minister further explained that with South Korea, it will facilitate entry into the country which Cameroon enjoys good collaboration in the domains of health, information and communication technologies, and education, where many countrymen are being trained in various fields. Additional justifications provided by the Minister indicate that it will boost trade and facilitate Cameroon’s access to the Korean market.
