Ahead of School Resumption : Defence, Security Forces Reassure Population

This follows a working session in Buea on August 27, 2024 under the auspices of the Commander of the 2nd Joint Military Region, Air Commodore Eba Eba Bede Beniot.


The Commander of the 2nd Joint Military Region with territorial jurisdiction in the Littoral and South West Regions, Air Commodore Eba Eba Bede Beniot, has reassured the population and the education community of the South West Region, that the security situation ahead of the start of the 2024-2025 academic year slated for September 9, 2024 is stable. The senior military official was speaking to reporters on August 27, in Buea, South West Region, shortly after a working session with unit heads of various defense and security forces operations in the regional capital. 
“We still have only two weeks left before the resumption of schools. As in the past years, we usually come to ensure that everything is moving on the right way and the security side is taken care of,” the Commander of the 2nd Military Region said. Upon his arrival in Buea, Air Commodore Eba Eba Bede Beniot and his entourage paid a courtesy visit to South West Governor, Bernard Okalia Bilai. To the senior military official, the assessment of the chief Executive Officer of the Region as far as the security is concern is quite encouraging. I had the working session with my collaborators to make sure that no party is left behind. Since I have reassured myself on the security situation, I can now assure the education community that they can carry out their activities fearlessly. We are taking care of the security of the school activities. So, there is nothing to be afraid of,” he reiterated.
