Cameroon-Israel: Strengthening Political, Economic Ties

Minister Felix Mbayu granted an audience to Ambassador Amnon Kalmar on September 6, 2024 in the course of which the discussions were held.
Within the context of strengthening cooperation ties between Cameroon and Israel, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, on September 6, 2024 received in audience the Ambassador of Israel to Cameroon, Amnon Kalmar. Focus of the audience was strengthening bilateral relations between both countries in agriculture, political, economic and defence sectors.
As stated by the Ambassador at the end of the audience, Cameroon and Israel are two partner nations with friendly cooperation ties. For the wellbeing of the population, the two personalities exchanged views on improving cooperation ties in the concerned sectors especially given the fact that the two countries have a long-standing diplomatic relationship that has evolved over the years.
With regards to military cooperation, Israel has been a significant partner in Cameroon’s military development, with the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR) being trained and equipped by Israel. Israel has also supported Cameroon by providing armored vehicles to Presidential Guard corps.
