Rhythmic Gymnastics : Officials Drilled On Techniques

A five-day training camp on the sports discipline opened in Yaounde on Tuesday October 15, 2024.

Upgrading the level of gymnastics in Cameroon is a major preoccupation of officials of the sports discipline in the country. It is in this light that a five-day training camp on rhythmic gymnastics opened at the Doume Aboubakar Ggymnasium of the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS) in Yaounde on Tuesday October 15, 2024. Organised by the Cameroon Gymnastics Federation (FECAGYM) in collaboration with the African Gymnastics Union (UAG), the workshop brings together 23 participants from across the country. 
Speaking at the opening, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Pr. Narcisse Mouelle Kombi said encouraged the trainees to apply themselves during this training camp. He also congratulated the officials of FECAGM for their dynamism. The President of the African Confederations of Olympic Sports, Hamad Kalkaba Malboum, said he was happy to be part of the ceremony as President of the Confederations of Olympic Sports. He said this is the time to promote gymnastics because in the Olympic Games there are two major sports; gymnastics and swimming. He called on the trainees to be assiduous, disciplined and courageous during the training camp and also to have the ambition of becoming African champions, world champions and Olympic champions in future.
