Cameroon- Gabon : Neighbours With Common Interests

Reinforcing trans-border and regional security, boosting trade and enhancing sub-regional integration are similar goals in the Cameroon-Gabon cooperation.


They are now both members of the Commonwealth and La Francophonie. This adds to their already existing membership in the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC), African Union, the United Nations and the International Monetary Fund.  Bilateral relations between Cameroon and Gabon, as the days go by, becomes more strengthened, with cooperation domains spanning new horizons. These diplomatic ties were further reviewed and intensified on November 1, 2024 during a farewell audience the President of the Republic granted the outgoing Gabonese High Commissioner to Cameroon, Paul Patrick Biffot, who also doubled as the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, as he has come to the end of his mission in Cameroon. The Head of State equally appreciated the achievements of the diplomat who spent 12 years in Cameroon. 
On a global note, cooperation ties between Cameroon and Gabon span several spheres, ranging from politics to education, security and trade. At the political level, there have been high level exchange visits. In December 2023, the President of the Transition, President of Gabonese Republic, Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, was on an official visit in Cameroon and was received by the President of the Republic, Paul Biya.
