Programme Budgetary Model : NW Regional Assembly, Council Officials In School

The North West Regional Assembly and Local councils are expected to effectively, efficiently   and confidently apply the Programme Budgeting model in the preparation and execution of their budgets starting from the budgets for the 2025 financial year.
This will be possible thanks to the knowledge and skills the Regional Assembly and local Council officials acquired during the two-day capacity building workshop in Bamenda on November 1-2, 2024 organised by the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator for the North West Region.  The workshop was on the control of main outputs of the Planning, Programming, Budgeting System (PPBS) Chain designed to provide them with the essentials on Programme Budgeting. The Public Independent Conciliator for the North West Region Tamfu Simon Fai who presided at the opening and closing ceremonies of the workshop talking about the importance of the training said, “This will enable you to apply the concept of Programme Budgeting confidently, even starting straight away in the preparation of the 2025 budgets.”
The Regional Assembly officials, Mayors and Secretaries-General of Local Councils for the two days learned the principles and practices of Programme Budgeting, shard insights and experiences and equipped themselves with skills necessary to implement the approach successfully.
