Improving Cameroon-Russia Ties : Practical Thematic Areas Highlighted

Over five panel discussions at the conference touched on sectors that have a direct impact on the development of the African continent.

Participants of the two-day First Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum, held in Sochi on November 9-10, 2024, began the first day with panel discussions and rountable meetings. Reflections touched on a wide range of issues and were moderated by different officials, who are experts in the concerned fields.
They started with the need for capacity building in e-Governance.  With the Agenda 2023 of the African Union and various national strategies based on bridging the digital divide gap, participants exchanged views on best practices. Russia which has since 2023 been implementating its 2030 strategy for the digital transformation of public administration, was a motivational example.  Indeed, the objective of the panel discussions was to highlight on the need of leaving no one offline and creating a digital legacy for the continent. Equipping the population with digital literacy, promoting online education, balancing different goals in the development of technology, putting in place a digital structure within the African Continental Free Trade Area, and encouraging the use of digital banking to enhance transparency and inclusive growth came up during the exchanges. 
On the young people in Russia and Africa, who are glimpse of the future, discussions centred on the fact that it was imperative to involve them in both social spheres and the country development strategy. Then came the panel discussion on "Industrial and Educational Partnership: Potential for cooperation between universities and companies in training staff for real sectors of the economy." It was agreed that the continent is in need of highly qualified staff primarily in the energy, construction,  agriculture and medicine sectors.  To that effect, the delegates sougth to know educational projects that can be implemented with the support of Russian companies, prospects to boosting the partnership between highest educational establishments and businesses ...
