Africa Rugby XV Cup Qualifiers : National Team In Morocco

The first round of the competition will kick off today, November 19, 2024 at the Mohamed Benjelloun Complex in Casablanca.

 

The national men’s Rugby XV team is in Morocco where they will take part in the first round of the 2025 Africa Rugby XV qualifiers that will kick off today, November 20, 2024 at the Mohamed Benjelloun Complex in Casablanca. The Cameroonian delegation made up of 23 players and eight officials left the country early yesterday for Casablanca via the Yaounde Nsimalen Airport on board a Royal Air Maroc flight. Among the 23 players to defend the colours of Cameroon in Casablanca, five are professionals.  
Prior to their departure, the national rugby XV team had a ten-day intensive training camp in the campus of Collège Stoll in Akono near Yaounde. The players trained under the supervision of the head coach, Kwedi Sosso. The objective of the team is to secure a ticket for the Africa Cup of Nations next year and the World Cup in 2027 in Australia. Cameroon will play their first match against Madagascar tomorrow, November 20, 2024 at the Mohamed Benjelloun Stadium, Casablanca at 3:00 p.m. Meanwhile, Morocco will play the first game against Botswana in the same venue at 12:00 noon.
