The upcoming edition of the women’s division one championship was launched during a press conference yesterday November 21, 2024 in Yaounde.
The 2024-2025 edition of the women’s division one championship dubbed the Guinness Super League will begin on November 30, 2024. It is against this backdrop that a press conference was organized yesterday November 21, 2024 to launch the fifth edition (Season 5) under the sponsorship of Guinness Cameroon.
Céline Eko, First Vice President of FECAFOOT and President of the Female Football League, speaking on behalf of the Federation Boss, expressed gratitude to Guinness for their unwavering support of women's football in Cameroon. She emphasized the positive impact of the partnership, which has contributed to the league's growth and professionalism.
Raoul Nana, Marketing Manager of Guinness Cameroon, reiterated the company's commitment to women's football and its pride in the league's progress. He highlighted the increasing number of fans attending matches and the rising professionalism of the competition. Nana also emphasized Guinness's dedication to promoting young Cameroonian women’s football talents through its "Black Shines Brightest" campaign and reassured the federation of continues support.
Bertille Abega, Brand Manager of Guinness Cameroon, echoed Nana's views, pointing to the recent success of the U-20 Lionesses at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup and the three Cameroonian nominees for CAF Women’s awards as evidence of the league's positive impact.
