Guinness Super League : Need To Boost Competitiveness

The new season which begins this November 30, 2024, presents new opportunities to boost the competitiveness of the league.

Season 5 of the Women’s Division One Championship dubbed the Guinness Super League rumbles off this November 30, 2024. A total of 12 teams will be taking part in this edition of the competition. They include; Dja Sports Academy, AS Awa, Authentic Douala, Cyclone, Louves Minproff, Éclair de Sa’a, Lekié FF, Caïman Douala, Amazones FAP, Vision, Ita Mbong and FC Ebolowa. Mindful of the strides covered by the league this far, the 2024-2025 season presents an opportunity to do better at the level of competitiveness. This will not only boost the worth of players but equally place Cameroonian clubs on an honour role when they go in for international competitions, especially the CAF Women’s Champions League.
The new season was launched during a press conference on November 21, 2024 in Yaounde. It was an opportunity for the official sponsors to present the logo of the competition, and the outfit for the season. Following the achievement of the competition during these last four seasons, the sponsors have decided to go beyond its contractual commitment, by further improving the care of its footballers, coaches and referees as a way of encouraging women football in the country. 
However, there are still some weaknesses that plague the women’s championship. It should be recalled that during the past four seasons, Cameroonian clubs are still struggling to create an impact at the international level.
