Public Works : Expected Commissioning of 754,76 New Roads

The projection is expected to be realised with the proposed budget of the Ministry that stands at FCFA 638 billion.

Public Works Minister, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, has defended the estimated financial allocation of his Ministry that stands at FCFA 638.576 billion, before the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly.  He was before the Committee members on December 4, 2024.
Explanatory notes of his presentation indicate that the delivery of 754,76 kilometres of newly paved roads is expected in 2025, including the maintenance of other paved and earth roads. The Minister in his presentation notes that their action plan is to strengthen the momentum of economic growth and make it more inclusive, in order to promote the industrial transformation of the country and improve people's living conditions.  Concretely, the solicited budget will be used for the completion of major first generation projects, and continuing to implement second generation projects, as well as rehabilitating and maintaining existing infrastructure. In 2025, the Minister noted, will see the start of 12 construction projects, including nine road projects (547.274km), three engineering structure projects (2,222 LM). Four rehabilitation projects over 153.43km, eleven projects for the reinforcement of maintenance works on paved roads over 1,636 kilometres is also projected for next year.
