National Assembly : House Speaker Retrospects Activities

“It was a hectic session characterised by the inauguration of the new National Assembly complex and other landmark activities like the consideration and adoption of 13 (thirteen) bills, including the very important Finance Bill relating to the State budget of Cameroon for the 2025 financial year,” stated the House Speaker, Cavaye Yeguié Djibril as he chaired the closing plenary sitting of the November session yesterday December 11, 2024.  Recalling that the State budget adopted at the National Assembly is balanced in revenue and expenditure to the sum of FCFA 7,317.7 billion, the House Speaker said government has now been endowed with a realistic budget prepared in accordance with the esteemed guidelines of the President of the Republic and in consonance with the development objectives of Cameroon outlined in the 2025 economic, financial, social and cultural agenda of the nation. According to the House Speaker, the 2025 State budget would enable government to overcome the country’s numerous challenges of consolidating peace, national unity and social equity in a country that is keen to become an emerging economy. “It should be recalled, in particular, that the presidential election is slated for 2025. As we opined during the opening ceremony of the session now ending, we look forward to a transparent and peaceful Presidential election in a secured atmosphere,” highlighted Hon. Cavaye Yeguié Djibril.
