Apart from the perfect communion with hundreds of defence and security forces during the December 31-January 1 crossover night, Joseph Beti Assomo also presided over an epaulettes award ceremony at the ceremonial ground in Touboro and later in Garoua on N
In a strategic and heartfelt gesture aimed at boosting the morale of defence and security forces stationed in the north regional town of Touboro, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo, spent the New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day itself communing with the forces. The move, which has been a tradition in the last nine years, comes at a time when the country faces significant security challenges, including threats from Boko Haram in the Far North, separatist violence in the two English-speaking regions, and other forms of criminality across the country.
