Senate : Institution Gets New Secretary General

Gustave Léopold Ngane, was designated clerk of the law-making institution during a bureau meeting on January 2, 2025 chaired by the Senior Vice President, Aboubakary Abdoulaye.
The Senate has a new Secretary General in the person of Gustave Léopold Ngane. He was designated to the position during a bureau meeting chaired by the Senior Vice President of the Senate, Aboubakary Abdoulaye, on January 2, 2025. He replaces Michel Meva’a M’Eboutou who has occupied the position since June 2013.
Two Vice Presidents of the Senate, Robert Nkili and Chief Nfor Tabetando spoke to the press after the bureau meeting which had just one point on the agenda; the appointment of a Secretary General to enhance administrative affairs. He was immediately installed to his functions.
The Senate bureau has the full powers to preside over the deliberations of the Senate, as well as organise all its services, amongst them the Secretariat, hence the designation of the new Secretary General to ensure administrative affairs are aptly functional.
