Bamenda : Cultural Jamboree Focuses On Seeking Peace

The North West Regional Assembly on December 31, organised the 2024 edition of its end-of year Cultural Jamboree during which there were also inter-religious prayers.
The population of the North West Region across the board are looking forward to the year 2025 as that in which they will witness the return of peace, love, tolerance and the development back on the rails. The end-of-year cultural jamboree organised by the North West Regional Assembly on December 31, 2024 at the courtyard of the Mezam Senior Divisional Office offered an opportunity for major speakers to hammer on the urgency of all stakeholders and the population to work for the return of peace in the region. The representative of the State, Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique said the jamboree that ushered in the jubilee year sought to bring lasting peace to the region, and stressed that promoting the return to peace remains the main challenge in 2025. He appealed to the population to be peace ambassadors. Governor Lele Lafrique thanked religious leaders who during the occasion prayed for peace, reconciliation, tolerance and forgiveness and called for continuous prayers for peace in the North West Region hit by security crisis.
The organiser of the cultural jamboree, President of the North West Regional Assembly Professor Fru Angwafo III said the end-of-year should be a time for forgiveness and to share love. He further said that they want to celebrate peace and the joy of living together, diversity and goodness of God. The Bamenda City Council Mayor Paul Achobong called on all sponsoring and encouraging the non-State armed separatist fighters to stop.
