New Year 2025 : Best Wishes Mrs. Chantal Biya

This was the expression of the about 1,300 guests present at the Unity Palace on January 11, 2025, for the traditional New Year Wishes ceremony to the First Lady.
About 1,300 guests drawn from all walks of life have extended their best wishes for 2025 to the First Lady of Cameroon, Mrs. Chantal Biya. This was during her traditional New Year Wishes ceremony which took place at the East Wing of the Unity Palace in Yaounde on January 11, 2025.
The First Lady arrived at the event adorned with a charming pink gown and was greeted with standing ovations and joy from those who came to wish her a prosperous New Year. Spouses of members of the Diplomatic Corps opened the floor. They were led by Mrs. Wu Ying, the Spouse of the Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon and Vice Dean of the Diplomatic Corps. The First Lady, as has been the tradition, spent more time with the women exchanging pleasantries. They amongst other exercises, shared a beautiful cake. Mrs Biya indeed demonstrated that Cameroon is a land of legendary hospitality.
They were followed by 27 other delegations of national dignitaries who took turns to shake hands with the First Lady and extend their best wishes. Among them were the spouses of the bureau members of the Senate, led by Madam Anastasie Nkili, spouse of the Vice President of the Senate. The spouses of members of Government were led by Madam Aminatou Bello, spouse of the Minister State, Minister of Tourism and Leisure. The Spouses of members of the Political Bureau of the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (CPDM) were led by Madam Nkuete, spouse of the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the party.
Several other delegations followed and came in to the similar exercise of shaking hands and or hugging the First Lady who gave everyone a pride of place and often reciprocated the best wishes with the words “Happy New Year”. The UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador equally gave everyone the opportunity to take souvenir pictures.
Another point of attraction was on the delegations from the First Lady's humanitarian organisations that have been fostering access to public health, fighting against poverty, and coming to the aid of the underprivileged. Among the delegations of her humanitarian associations was the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC), led by Madam Angeline Ndo, Deputy General Coordinator. The delegation of the Chantal Biya Foundation and Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery and Human Reproductive Teaching Hospital (CHRACERH) was led by the Deputy Secretary General of the Foundation, Mr. Jean Stéphane Biatcha....
