Diplomacy : Portuguese Ambassador Assumes Office

Paulo Jorge Martins Dos Santos presented the advance copies of his lettres to the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella on March 20, 2025.

The newly designated Ambassador of Portugal to Cameroon with residence in Abuja, Paulo Jorge Martins Dos Santos has presented the advance copies of his letters of credence to the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella. This was during an audience the Minister granted the Ambassador on March 20, 2025 at the Ministry of External Relations.
The Head of Mission who will hence pilot diplomatic relations between Cameroon and Portugal, has a degree in International Relations obtained from the University of Lisbon. He is a career diplomat since 1996 and has served his country in several capacities both home and abroad. He has a wide range of experience in political, economic and consular affairs. He has been awarded the Grand-Cross of the Order of Merit of Portugal. 
He was appointed Ambassador of Portugal to Cameroon with residence in Abuja in February 2024. Prior his appointment, Paulo Jorge Martins Dos Santos served as Chargé d’Affaires at his country’s Embassy in Nigeria, a position he occupied from May 2023.
