FIFA U-17 World Cup : Nine African Countries Into Round 16

South Africa, Zambia, Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Uganda, Burkina Faso, and Mali all displayed unique strengths during Round 32 of the tournament taking place since November 3, 2025.
Out of the ten countries representing Africa, Ivory Coast is the only one that could not make it to the round of 16 of the FIFA under 17 World Cup, taking place in Qatar since November 3, 2025. Meanwhile, South Africa, Zambia, Senegal, Tunisia, Egypt, and Uganda had already secured their tickets for the Round of 16 some days ago, Mali and Burkina Faso were the last two countries to qualify, following Mali’s 2-0 victory over Saudi Arabia and Burkina Faso’s 2-0 win against Tajikistan
For the first time is history, the football competition brought together 48 countries all over the world. Throughout the group phase and Round of 32, Morocco’s journey stood out with a historic 16-0 victory over New Caledonia, setting a tournament record for the largest win. Despite a challenging start, losing their first two matches against Japan 0-2 and Portugal 0-6, Morocco’s remarkable performance highlighted their determination as they finished third in their group. Senegal also impressed by overpowering the United Arab Emirates with a commanding 5-0 win, showcasing strong team cohesion.
