North West : Regional Supervisory Commission Begins Work

The members are meeting at the Court of Appeal North West in Up station Bamenda.

Members of the North West Regional Supervisory Commission in charge of counting votes and proclamation of results of the November 30, 2025 election of Regional Councillors effectively started work at the Court of Appeal North West in Bamenda around 1 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025. In accordance with the provision of Section 263 (1) of the Electoral Code, the chairperson of the Commission is Justice Sokem Ngale Mborh, Vice President of the Court of Appeal North West who was designated by the President of the Court of Appeal of the jurisdiction. The work started with all the other members of the commission present in addition to the representatives of the lists of traditional rulers.  At the start, the Commission chairperson Justice Sokem Ngale Mborh said they would kick off with Delegates of Divisions before coming to Representatives of traditional rulers. This is explained by the fact that only the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) ran for the 70 Delegates of Divisions in the seven Divisions of the North West Region. It would therefore make work easy. On the other hand, lists of traditional rulers competed for seats in the North West House of Chiefs in Mezam, Momo, Donga Mantung and Menchum Divisions.
