Electoral Processes : ELECAM Projects 2026 Actions

A strategic and operational roadmap of the elections management institution was examined yesterday by the Electoral Board during its fourth ordinary session for this year.

Members of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) meeting yesterday for its fourth ordinary session for 2025, have reviewed progress made in the course of the year especially the organisation of the Presidential and Regional elections. Reflections were presided over by the Chairperson of the Electoral Board, Enow Abrams Egbe, and also examined the operational roadmap for the upcoming financial year, which is another crucial electoral year for Cameroon given that the legislative and municipal elections are in view. The meeting is in accordance with Section 18 of the Electoral Code which gives the institution the prerogative to hold four ordinary sessions each year. 
While recalling that the successful organisation of the recent elections was undoubtedly the result of months of strategic preparation, planning and forecasting, he urged stakeholders to already be on the alert for the upcoming twin elections. “As we conclude the first chapter of the 2025–2027 electoral cycle, our responsibility is to focus on effectively preparing for the next legislative and municipal elections, which are scheduled for next year. As always, this requires a greater sense of anticipation, strategic thinking and early coordination from all of us,” Enow Abrams Egbe stated. The session, he added, was particularly important because it consolidates observations from the field, highlights progress made and identifies areas for improvement. The findings, members of the Electoral Board were told, will direct the institution’s approach to future electoral processes and strengthen performance.
