Christopher John Lamora : Diplomatic Mission Ends

The United States Ambassador to Cameroon was accorded a farewell audience yesterday by External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella.
Having come to the end of his diplomatic stay in Cameroon, the Ambassador of the United States of America, Christopher John Lamora was granted a farewell audience yesterday January 12 by External Relations Minister, Mbella Mbella. Both personalities reviewed diplomatic relations between the two countries especially in the last four years, with particular focus on the achievements of the US diplomat during his diplomatic tenure in the country.
Presenting an overview of the audience, Ambassador Christopher John Lamora said they discussed what the United States and Cameroon have managed to accomplish together over the last four years. “It was a very, I would say, light meeting in the sense that we have become not just colleagues but have a very good relationship since I came here in March 2022, and reviewing very positively what we have done in health, security, investment and a number of other areas. And I was grateful for the good wishes of the Minister and his team as I move on to the next chapter,” Christopher John Lamora stated.
With regards to his achievements during his diplomatic assignment in Cameroon, he cited the Memorandum of Understanding signed in December 2025 for almost 900 million US dollars over the next five years in public health, the visit in September of the same year of General Anderson, the Head of the US Africa Command and the continued cooperation between the two countries in countering terrorism, maritime security and piracy, as well as the training of Cameroonian security forces.
