Cameroon is bracing up to welcome thousands of high-level stakeholders on international trade as Yaounde hosts the 14th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) from March 26- 29, 2026. The high-stake conclave also has varied connotations for the host, the Central African subregion, Africa and the world at large. The economic and diplomatic significance of the event in Cameroon and the timing rekindle extensive hopes in both the actors and the global public as a whole. It is, to say the least, a historic event. Cameroon’s national bilingual daily newspaper, Cameroon Tribune, a people-centred medium of information, has therefore drawn full length to inform and educate its faithful readers on the stakes and challenges of the highly-awaited Yaounde WTO conclave. The newspaper begins a countdown to the event tomorrow March 19 with so much in stock on a daily basis. Besides edifying the public on the level of preparedness, the different write-ups will equally examine the burning issues to be handled in Cameroon’s political capital.
