USM Alger are the winners of the 2025–2026 CAF Confederation Cup. This was after beating Egyptian giants Zamalek 8-7 on penalties in the second-leg final on May 16, 2026 at Cairo International Stadium. The first leg ended in a 1-0 win for USM Alger while the second was won by Zamalek 1-0, bringing the aggregate score to 1-1. The two teams finally decided the tie on penalties and the Algerian side carried the day, thanks to the dexterity and resilience of its players, including Cameroon’s own Che Malone Fondoh. The Cameroonian centre-back was at the heart of this victory from start to finish. He produced an authoritative defensive display, winning a majority of his duels. This victory is the icing on the cake this season after USM Alger also clinched the Algerian league title, again with Che Malone at the engine of their defence.
