MTN Elite Two: High-Stake Last Playing Day!

The 14th match day, which ends the regular phase of the championship, begins today, May 22, 2026, and will conclude on the teams that will qualify for the playoffs up and playoffs down.
Eding Sports of Lekie and Racing of Bafoussam, bottom in Groups A and B respectively of the ongoing MTN Elite Two championship are already mathematically relegated to the Regional League. The rules of the competition state that the bottom-placed team in each group directly drops after the regular phase. Match day 14, which wraps up this regular phase of the championship begins today May 22, 2026 and concludes on Saturday May 23, 2026. It will be instrumental in finalising the list of teams that will qualify for the playoffs up and playoffs down. The first three teams in each of the groups will play the playoffs up. In Group A, there will be a deadly duel at the Afan Mabe stadium of Kribi on Saturday May 23, 2026 pitting Atlantic of Kribi against Les Astres of Douala. Atlantic of Kribi, first on the standings after match day 13 with 27 points, are already sure of a playoffs up spot. Contrarily, Les Astres sit third on the standings with 21 points but need a positive result to hope for one of the playoffs up spots. This is because they are closely followed by Sable of Batie, fourth with equally 21 points. Sable will also thus be looking to beat AS FAP on Saturday May 23, 2026 at the FECAFOOT Technical Centre in Odza. It should be said that the Atlantic vs Les Astres and the AS FAP–Sable game will be played simultaneously from 3 p.m. The tension and suspense will be real and the intensity on the two pitches is expected to live up to the high stakes of the encounters. Apejes of Mfou (second), also sure of a playoffs up spot with 26 points, will be in Bamenda today to establish their superiority over Ngoketundja, fifth on the standings with 16 points. Ngoketundja are already condemned to play the playoffs down in the quest of maintenance just like Union Douala and AS FAP. Down to Group B, Avion Academy with 25 points, first on the standings, are also mathematically sure of one of the playoffs up spots. Today May 22, 2026 in Bamenda, they will play Bafmeng United, 17 points, fifth on the standings...
