Symbiose à Madrid: Embassy Reaffirms Strong Relations

Diplomatic Corps, US officials, and the Cameroonian diaspora joined the Embassy for a ceremony marked by partnership, pride, patriotism and national unity.

The Embassy of Cameroon in Washington, D.C. hosted hundreds of guests on May 20th for the celebration of the 54th edition of the National Day. The event was held at the Banquet Hall of the Embassy on Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington D.C. It all took place in an atmosphere of pomp, colour, and fanfare, with the Ambassador, H.E Henri Etoundi Essomba, highlighting the strong and longstanding ties between Cameroon and its international partners. The day began with a flag‑hoisting ceremony, followed by two major ceremonies at the Embassy. The first brought together U.S. government officials from the Department of State and the White House, alongside Ambassadors and members of the wider diplomatic corps. In his remarks, Cameroon’s Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Henri Etoundi Essomba, applauded the solid bilateral relations between Cameroon and the United States. He underscored the importance of continued cooperation in key areas of shared interests, including security, cultural exchange, and development. Representing the U.S. government, Brenda Soya of the US Department of State, reiterated America’s commitment to partnership, cooperation, and mutual interests.
