The Final Stretch: GCE Board Publishes New Examination Framework

The announcement on June 11, 2026 follows a calendar realignment after exam questions were leaked on social media. The exams will run from June 22, 2026 to July 2, 2026.

The Cameroon General Certificate of Education, GCE Board has this Thursday, June 11, 2026 officially released the detailed, updated written timetable for the remainder of the June 2026 examination session. Validated under Decision No. /2025/GCEB/TMT1/TMT2/EO-OLG/EO-ALG by Mrs. Ndi Bernadette Frinwie Ntemna, Head of the GCE Board Transition Management Team, the newly formatted calendar provides critical clarity for thousands of Ordinary and Advanced Level candidates across the nation.

After Two-week Postponement
The release follows a major shake-up earlier this month when the Minister of Secondary Educatio, Prof. Nalova Lyonga was forced to halt and reschedule examinations originally slated for mid-June. Due to the external leakage of confidential questions on social media platforms. In an exceptional measure to preserve the credibility, integrity, and fairness of the certifications, authorities enacted a strict two-week cooling period.

Exam Calendar Realignment
According to revised timetable, the remaining written phase will resume intensely on Monday, June 22, 2026. The first day of the restart will test O-Level candidates in Physics and Chemistry, while A-Level candidates handle high-stakes Geography and Physics papers. The rigorous schedule features uninterrupted morning sessions starting promptly at 8:00 A.M. and afternoon sessions commencing at 1:00 P.M.
The marathon session is scheduled to wrap up on Thursday, July 2, 2026, with Religious Studies at the Ordinary Level and the newly prominent Cinematic Art papers at the Advanced Level.

Strict Adherence Expected
While the two-week delay has introduced unforeseen logistical and financial burdens on parents and students regarding extended lodging, transportation, and feeding, the GCE Board has re-emphasized that strict adherence to this definitive calendar is required. Chiefs of center and candidates have been strictly instructed to study the text meticulously to avoid session clashes, as the Board warns that this timetable takes absolute precedence over any conflicting schedules.
