Cameroon-Morocco: Intensifying Bilateral Cooperation

As part of measures to strengthen bilateral relations between Cameroon and Morocco, the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella granted an audience to Ambassador Jamoussi Abdelkader on June 19, 2026. Two months after the presentation of his accreditation documents at the Ministry of External Relations, the Moroccan Head of Mission was thus meeting with the Minister, accompanied by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, to outline collaboration framework for a mutually-beneficial partnership. It was therefore the first working session between the two parties after the official assumption of office of the Ambassador and it was dedicated to restarting political, economic, and cultural activities linking Cameroon and Morocco. According to the Ambassador, it is important to redefine the legal framework that has been on hold for several years, which would allow for the revision and expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. He also mentioned that experts from both countries are already working on several conventions and agreements. Cameroon and Morocco cooperate in several domains, including trade. The latter primarily exports fertilizers, wires, and manufactured goods to the former, while Cameroon exports timber, cocoa, and cotton.
