An in-camera audience held on July 26, between the Minister of Transport and interim US Chargé d'Affaires, emphasised the need for ship registration in facilitating global business.
I n a bid to comply with international maritime laws that oblige vessel owners to establish a vessel's na tionality affiliated to a sovereign flag, prove legal ownership, and ensure compliance with international safety and environmental laws through due ship registration, Cameroon’s Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Massena Ngalle Bibehe granted an audience to the United States of America’s in terim Chargé d'Affaires, John G. Ro binson, yesterday, July 26, 2026 in Yaounde. The maiden visit that centred dis cussions around cooperation on trans port sector issues, the diplomat said, charted intervention avenues for the US to help improve ship registry in Cameroon.
