Public Health: EPI Reviews First-Half Performance

H ealth officials, immunisation experts and development part­ ners have gathered in Douala for a five-day Monitoring and Evalua­ tion (M&E) Workshop of the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) to assess the programme's performance during the first half of 2026 and de­ fine priorities for the remainder of the year. The workshop, which opened on July 27 in the Douala, brought together of­ ficials from the EPI Central coordina­ tion, representatives of the 10 Regio­ nal Coordination Offices, and technical and financial partners. Participants are reviewing the programme's achieve­ ments, validating first-half reports and identifying adjustments to the 2026 Annual Work Plan for implementation during the second semester. The meeting offers an opportunity for stakeholders to evaluate progress in routine immunisation and strengthen strategies aimed at increasing vaccine coverage and improving public health outcomes across the country. Opening the workshop, the Regional Delegate for Public Health for the Lit­ toral, Mr. Yopndoi Charles, commended the EPI Central Coordination and its partners for their continued support to the national immunisation programme.
