South West: Canterbury Archbishop’s Drum Call For Peace

S aturday August 1, 2026, marked a historic moment in the life of the Anglican Church authorities in the South West Region as well as the Dr Biaka Memorial Foundation and the Biaka Group, as they received the 106th Archbishop of Canterbury who is the spiritual leader of the worldwide Anglican Communion. The Most Reverend and Rt. Hon. Dame Sarah Mullally began her sojourn to the South West Region with a curtesy visit to Governor Bernard Okalia Bilai before moving to the Bokoko campus of the Biaka University Institute where she had an engaging moment with the Biaka Group, representative of the Biaka Memorial Foundation, staff members, church leaders, students, Christians and other dignitaries. Addressing the attendees of the brief meeting at the Biaka University Ins­ titute campus, the spiritual leader of the worldwide Anglican Church un­ derscored the importance of facilita­ ting access to education and health­ care, stating that education and healthcare do not only transform in­ dividuals but equally transforms com­ munities.
