C ameroonian cybersecurity engi­ neer, Serge Stephane Meye Ba Ntyam, in 2021, championed the major development of African technology and created Meye Protect, dubbed country’s first locally develo­ ped antivirus software. The 1st place laureate of the FCFA 10 million for the third edition of the Head of State Paul Biya’s Special Prize for the best ICT project of the year, sought to create a device that utilizes artificial intelli­ gence to prevent cyberattacks, block malware, and safeguard sensitive di­ gital data in real time.
