Cameroon-Israel: Outgoing Ambassador Decorated Grand Officer

T he outgoing Ambassador of the State of Israel, Amon Kalmar who has come to the end of his diplomatic stay in Cameroon has been offered a State diner by the Minister of Ex­ ternal Relations, Mbella Mbella, on behalf of the President of the Republic. It took place on Sep­ tember 16, 2026 and attended by several members of govern­ ment. The Ambassador was raised to the dignity of Grand Officer of the National Order of Merit. In the toast of Minister Mbella Mbella, he saluted the achieve­ ments of the Head of Mission du­ ring his two-year tenure in Ca­ meroon. “Since taking office in June 2024, you have worked tire­ lessly to strengthen and diversify the excellent relations of friends­ hip and cooperation between Ca­ meroon and Israel, despite the tense situation prevailing in the Middle East, particularly in your country,” the Minister stated. Concretely, Minister Mbella Mbella cited the donation of computers to the Protestant University of Central Africa in 2025, and edu­ cational equipment to the Triso- cœur association’s educational centre for children with special needs, as an attestation of the Ambassador’s interest in the edu­ cation of Cameroonian youth. The Minister also commended the humanitarian commitment of Amon Kalmar, which he said could be seen with the renovation of the Essong health centre in Obala, accompanied by a donation of complete equipment for the pae­ diatric, maternity and inpatient wards, as well as the laboratory of this healthcare facility, which serves approximately eleven vil­ lages.
