Heine Nzumafo: Making Headlines In Chat App

He is the brain behind the chat app “Hiipe”, which can be downloaded from Apple itunes and Google Playstore.

 

From his birth place, Yaounde , in the Centre Region, to Limbe in the South West Region, where he attended nursery, primary and secondary schools, Heine Nzumafo, a native from Bameka village in the West Region, is making headlines in the ICTs world in the United States of America (USA). Founder of the chat app “Hiipe”, the Cameroonian who immigrated to the USA in 1995 says when he was creating “Hiipe”, he had Africa in mind, particularly Cameroon, his fatherland.

After obtaining a Bachelors Degree in 1999 from Stony Brook University, New York, and a Masters Degree from New York University (NYU) Polytechnic in 2002 with a graduate certificate in Wireless Communications, Heine Nzumafo served in the United States Army as a Signal (telecommunications) Officer for seven years, resigning in 2011 with the rank of Captain to pursue his dream of a chat app that would become “Hiipe”.  Today, Hiipe is a reality as it is one of those chat apps that give users points for chatting, which they can use to enter into raffles to win prizes or get discounts from participating merchants. With Hiipe, Heine Nzumafo says business people can promote themselves by creating campaigns and reaching users anywhere in the world. Although Hiipe is not yet familiar in the Cameroonian society, Nzumafo says he is conscious that TV and radio advertising cannot be afforded by everyone.
