External Relations: Minister Defends FCFA 37 billion Draft Budget

The proposed budget will be used for the optimisation and rationalisation of multilateral cooperation while promoting the effective presence of Cameroon on the international scene.

External Relations Minister, Lejeune Mbella Mbella on November 22, 2018 defended a draft budget of FCFA 37 billion, 681 million before the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly headed by Hon. Moutymbo Rosette Ayayi in the presence of Minister Jules Doret Ndongo representing the Vice Prime Minister, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Relations with Parliament, Amadou Ali. Amongst the most salient activities to be implemented under the budgetary projections is the promotion of bilateral cooperation, revitalizing multilateral cooperation and decentralised cooperation, management of Cameroonians abroad and fostering governance and institutional support. Within the context of promoting bilateral cooperation, emphasis will be on the opening of a Cameroonian Cultural Centre in Paris, participating in several summits, structured political dialogue with Europe and the organisation of counter-terrorism training sessions amongst others.
