Defence and Security Personnel Awarded Epaulets

This was in recognition to their services rendered to the State over the years within the framework of protecting territorial integrity, persons and property nationwide.
Following a series of presidential decrees signed on December 27, 2018 and a mi nisterial decision of December 28, 2018 promoting personnel of the defence forces, some officers and non-commissioned officers have been awarded epaulets and medals in recognition to their efforts at guaranteeing peace and security for the Fatherland.
This was during a ceremony which took place on January 1, 2019 at the courtyard of the Yaounde Headquarters Brigade presided at by the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie, Galax Etoga. Military officers were in the presidential decree promoted to the ranks of Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel, Captain and Chief Warrant Officers.
The award of their epaulets comes a day after the Head of State in his traditional address to the nation highlighted security challenges faced by the country and the need to collectively com bat the threat.
