Death of Major-General Tataw Tabe James : Mortal Remains In Yaounde

Minister Joseph Beti Assomo on September 17, 2019 at the Nsimalen international airport received the mortal remains of the General from France.
The mortal remains of Major-General Tataw Tabe James who died in France on July 24, 2019 are now in Yaounde with coffining beginning this morning at the Yaounde General Hospital mortuary. His corpse arrived at the Yaounde Nsimalen international airport on September 17, 2019 and was received by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo and other officials. A brief airport funeral service was organised and officiated at by Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Ayambot before transferring the mortal remains to the Yaounde General Hospital mortuary.
Drawing inspiration from Paul’s first letter to the Thessalonians, Rev. Prof. Ayambot in his sermon after describing the fallen General as a great Statesman who served the nation and humanity faithfully said he (General Tataw James) is not death but rather asleep in the Lord. “From our human judgments as Christians, death is only a process, a journey to eternal life and a change of geographical location. In our traditional setting and as the traditional ruler he was, a chief never dies but only travels to bless the road for those to come after him,” he stated.
