Buea : Disinfecting Schools Ahead Of Monday Reopening

Heads of institutions are also requesting parents to ensure that their children have protective masks and personal hand sanitizers before entering the campuses.
Heads of some academic establishments in Buea have taken diverse measures to ensure a smooth resumption of classes on Monday June 1, 2020. The Bilingual Grammar School (BGS) Molyko on Tuesday May 26, 2020 disinfected the entire school campus through classrooms and offices. The disinfection comes on the heel of a general clean in the school. Batoum Ngom Laurent who effected the spraying said that he is using Chloride to disinfect the environment against Coronavirus and the chemical can last for one month. He also used “Tamega”, “pinforce” and “pyriforce” to disinfect the school against all types of insects and it will be repeated in three months.
The Principal of the BGS, Lyonga Cecilia Limunga, point out that each block of her school will have a hand washing container adapted with tap. That they have already done the arrangement on all the sitting positions in the school to accommodate students considering social distancing and are waiting for take-off on Monday. She called on parents to furnish their children with face masks and personal hand sanitizers before they come to school. Parents were also called up to prepare food pack for their children because no food will be sold on campus.
The proprietor of Buea Islamic Private Anglo-Arabic Nursery and Primary School, His Eminence, Alhadji Mohammed Aboubakar, held that they are 80 percent prepare to kick-off classes on Monday. That by Saturday May 30, 2020, they will complete the sanitary aspect whereby medical experts will disinfect the entire school. That on the day of reopening, medics will be in school to conduct thermo scan on pupils before they enter their classes. “Any child having high temperature will be referred to hospital for check up.
