The fight against Coronavirus pandemic has been stepped up in the Limbe II Municipality. For two days, January 7 and 8, 2021, the council embarked on disinfecting all its public places. Bike parks, churches, community halls, Chief palaces, beaches and popular drinking spots were all disinfected. Anti-COVID-19 materials in the likes of soaps, hand sanitizers, detergent, Carmel water, face masks and large containers adapted with taps were handed to the population.
In all the 12 villages that make up Limbe II Municipality with an estimated population of 45, 000, Chief Ndive Woka Ngale I, Mayor of Limbe II Council at each stop, sensitized the population on the dangers of COVID-19. He reminded them that the global pandemic is not yet over. As such, preventive measures like social distancing, washing of hands, sanitizing of hands and appropriate wearing of face masks should be reinstated. He equally highlighted the Head of State’s recent end-of-year message to the nation wherein he emphasized that the anti COVID-19 measures put in place by the government should be respected. “Don’t think that COVID-19 is gone. The pandemic is around and even more dangerous. You have to be on the alert and use the items we have given you appropriately,” he told inhabitants at Isokolo, Batoke, Wovia, Bobende, Ngeme etc.
