Cameroon’s Nchout Ajara Njoya and the men’s national team of Cameroon are the candidates for the ceremony that takes place today July 21, 2022 in Rabat, Morocco.
Barely hours to the highly-awaited 2022 CAF Awards ceremony, the African football governing body (CAF) has revealed the final three of all the men’s and women’s categories of nominees. The ceremony will take place in Rabat, Morocco today July 21, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. The list of three finalists in the different categories is taken from the list of nominees previously revealed by CAF in both men and women’s categories. Cameroon is represented in the awards ceremony by Indomitable Lions forward, Nchout Ajara Njoya for the women’s player of the year category and the national team of Cameroon, the Indomitable Lions.
In the women’s player of the year category, four-time winner, Asisat Oshoala of Nigeria is the hunt for a fifth crown. She however faces stiff opposition from Cameroon’s Nchout Ajara Njoya and new entrant Grace Chanda of Zambia. In the men’s category, former winners Mohamed Salah (Egypt) and Sadio Mane (Senegal) will have to battle it out with Senegal’s goalkeeper Edouard Mendy who is also a new comer in the list.
