March 12 Election : Polling Stations Known

Published by the Director General of Elections at ELECAM, a total of 198 polling stations will be used by 11,138 electors.
Elections Cameroon (ELECAM), through the Director General of Elections, Dr Erik Essousse, has published the list of polling stations across the ten regions of the country for the March 12 Senatorial election. According to the publication, a total of 198 polling stations in the 58 Divisions of Cameroon will be used by 11,138 electors (Regional and Municipal Councillors) to cast their votes. The list of polling stations is done per region, with every Division having the exact number of persons who will participate in the voting process.
In the Adamawa Region, some 654 Councillors will vote in 11 polling stations identified in five Divisions, while 914 Councillors will on poll day, vote in 17 polling stations in the four Divisions in the East Region. The highest number of polling stations, 37, are in the Centre Region where 1,983 Councillors across the 10 Divisions will have to cast their votes either in favour of the CPDM or FDC list. In the North West Region, where the CPDM and SDF are competing for the seven elected seats, 19 polling stations will host 1,127 Councillors of the seven Divisions. The South Region has 14 polling stations, Far North with 28, North-13, Littoral has 20, and 22 in the West Region.
The publication of polling stations is in accordance with Section 96 (1) of the Electoral Code which states that the Director General of Elections shall draw up the list of polling stations. “There shall be one polling station for a maximum of 500 electors.
