West : Regional Council Endorses Administrative Account

The West Regional Council held its administrative and management account session in Bafoussam from 21-23, March, 2023, where the Regional Councillors approved the 2022, administrative budget. The session was chaired by the President of the Regional Council, Dr. Jules Hilaire  Focka  Focka, in the presence of Governor Awa  Fonka  Augustine.
Addressing the session, Dr. Jules Hilaire Focka Focka, revealed that the budget for 2022 financial year stood in both revenue and expenditure at FCFA 5,638,496,497, adding that of this amount 2,959,325,052 FCFA was actually collected, representing 52.4 per cent. He gladly observed that out of 33 development projects earmarked for 2022, some 31 were effectively realised. Dr. Focka  Focka,said major development projects achieved included the construction of classrooms and administrative blocks in the regional and divisional headquarters, the promotion of economic activities and environmental protection. Other areas where some positive results were recorded included the promotion of culture notably enhancing the mother tongue, and support to sporting activities.
