Promoting Decent Migration : In-depth Consultations At MINREX

Within the framework of enhancing decent migration, the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella on April 26, 2023 received in audience Ambassador Lieven de la Marche who is the special envoy for migration from the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Belgian official is in Cameroon for a two-day thematic meeting on voluntary return and reintegration of migrants that held at the Ministry of External Relations from April 25 to 26, 2023 which he co-presided with Cameroon. The said conference as well as the audience with the Minister of External Relations were in line with the Rabat Process (a EuropeanAfrican dialogue on migration and development. In his statement to the press, the Ambassador said he discussed aspects of the general dialogue Europe has with Africa in the framework of the Rabat Process. “The dialogue that already exists for some years and reunites African and European countries to discuss all issues related to migration, ranging from promoting legal migration to stopping illegal migration, working on the protection of migrants, against smuggling of migrants and other issues.
