Cameroon-Egypt : State Diner Offered Visiting Minister

Bilateral relations between Cameroon and Egypt are gaining new steam following the holding of the second meeting of the political consultations mechanisms on May 4 and 5, 2023 in Yaounde. A State diner was on May 5, 2023 offered to the Egyptian Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for African Affairs, Mohammed Elbadri who was in Cameroon for a working visit and co-chaired deliberations at the political meeting. The Secretary General at the Minister of External Relations, Chinmoun Oumarou presided at the diner on behalf of the Minister. 
In his toast, the Secretary General said the presence of the Egyptian Minister on Cameroonian soil testifies to the excellent ties of friendship, brotherliness and fruitful cooperation existing between Yaounde and Cairo. “This gala crowns two days of intensive work, an occasion that enabled us to review the multiple facets of cooperation between our two countries, exchange views and share experience on issues of common interest and, finally, project ways and means of further boosting said cooperation,” he Stated. The Minister Plenipotentiary also appreciated the contributions of Egypt in seeking solutions to common challenges facing the two countries and the continent. Chinmoun Oumarou expressed government’s wish for conclusions arrived at during the political consultations meeting to be followed by effective and earnest implementation efforts.
