SDF : Party Prepares Elective Convention

A NEC meeting chaired by the First Vice President of the party, Hon. Joshua Osih on June 3 examined its readiness for the July 28 and 29 event to be held in Yaounde.
Members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) have examined preparations for the organisation of the elective convention of the party slated to hold in Yaounde on July 28 and 29, 2023 which will witness the election of a new National Chairman. The NEC meeting was presided at by the First Vice President, Hon. Joshua Osih on June 3, 2023 at the party’s headquarters in Yaounde. Reports on the reorganisation process of the basic structures of the party were also presented.
Hon. Joshua said it is going to be a historic convention because there will be a change in leadership. “That is why it is very important to meticulously prepare for this convention and that is the reason for this NEC meeting. We have two main points on the agenda: its reorganisation which means the selection of delegates who will come to that convention and the organisation of the convention proper as presented by the leader of that committee; Njong Donatus who has been doing a marvellous work to make sure that we are ready on time,” he stated. He added that the National Chairman, John Fru Ndi made his decision clear that he was not going to be a candidate again, something which he adds that prides the SDF as being the first political party represented in Parliament to ever have a change of leadership.
As per the reorganisation process, he noted that they hope to be completed in the two weeks as these are the delegates who will participate at the convention and it was necessary for the renewal process to be completed to give delegates enough time to prepare for the c...
